Lego Star wars III

I have a confession to make, Im a 30 year old who has never watched a full Star Wars episode from begin to end. So when I received an email informing me of the New Lego Star Wars III video – you can imagine my nephews (not mine) excitement.

I realised later it was a short commercial about 2 minutes long for Star Wars Motion game.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=421yi-X4Ahw

Notice the ‘crude humour’ warning before the commercial? As a person who doesnt understand what all the fuss is over Star Wars – I didnt really find the Humour to be Crude…but I did find the commercial funny and impressive.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmdP8AjNRUM

This clip is how Fancy Pants the animator behind Star Wars motion made these cute commercials. Once you watch this video you do appreciate the first video more – 15 images per second…wow…

What would you love to purchase from the US?

I just received an email from Online Shopping USA , an online shopping site for Aussies to purchase directly from the US.

To feature the best online retailers for us Aussies, Online Shopping USA need our help to ‘suggest’ which product and service they should trial for us .

Heres the email I received for more info and I just direct messaged them wanting a Guess watch hubby promised me 7 years ago….but as you all know he always remembers our anniversary 6 days later – and I refuse to even remind him anymore (my pride gets in the way)…

Incase you dont have a Twitter account, let me know so I can direct message them on your behalf with your info as contact of course!

We’re researching a feature on shipping from the USA to Australia and road testing some companies to see who offers the best service. But to do this we first need to buy some stuff … and here’s where we need your help!

The boss has left us with the company credit card and we thought what better way to choose a few nice items than ask our fellow shoppers.

Tell us (via twitter) what you’d buy from onlineshoppingusa.com.au (or maybe a product from any of the stores featured on the site) and why you’d like it and you might just be in with a chance of receiving it. If we like your suggestion, we’ll buy it and forward it on to you.

Fancy a new pair of sunglasses maybe? Or a new dress or pair of shoes ? Just let us know before June 30, 2011 and we’ll take care of the rest.

Pro tip: You might have a better chance of being in the running if the item is reasonably priced and not the most expensive on the site – this 2.01 ct emerald cut diamond, priced at US$23,537!

PS Don’t forget to let your friends know that they could receive anything fromonlineshoppingusa.com.au too and before June 30!

Thanks to the following people for supporting this promotion:

Smiggle

Its bright, funky & if you have a school aged kid then you know what it is. Smiggle is the lastest ‘school craze’ around Australia, and once you check out their site or store you soon understand why.

The Smiggle craze is what all kids at school are wanting and parents of school kids are trying to avoid. Smiggle stationary are funky, bright, innovate and basically the ‘cool’ must have at school.

Curiosity and my 6 year old got the better of me, so we ‘allowed’ her to spend her full $22.35 on what ever her heart desired. To be honest, I didnt expect school stationary to be so expensive….anyways….

My 6 year old bought the large bubble pencil case for $24.95 (wtf?), my other two purchased smaller pencil cases (thank goodness), 5 lead pencils, 1 lunch box, 4 erasers, a sharpener and a few other bits n pieces later we paid $65 in 25 minutes and were on our way home with 3 happy kids.

Ok OK – I know my daughter is too young for a $25 pencil case, but one look at the store you can understand the Smiggle Craze also remember my promise plus she did save her pocket money (even though I had to pay for majority of the items).

If you cant find a nearby Smiggle store, you can shop on their website – I havent tried it nor do I know the postage rate but if you have a love sick Smiggle living in your household be prepared.

“Every wish makes a difference”

Bugaboo launches a new Facebook application to help to spread the (PRODUCT)RED™ message.

Today and every day, more than 1,000 children are born HIV positive around the world – needlessly. But with access to medication a pregnant mother can stop the transmission of HIV to her child. By 2015, we can have a world where virtually no child is born with HIV.

To support this message, Bugaboo would like to invite parents and friends to use its new application on Facebook. Bugaboo asks (via this application) everyone to make a wish for women and children across the globe and share it with the world. The hope is that with every wish comes more support for this important goal.

Celebrities from around the world – including Australia’s own Elka Whalan and Catriona Rowntree – have posted messages to show their support of the project and to try and encourage others to do the same.

‘My WISH is a DREAM knowing that with DREAMS they do turn into reality. My dream is that all babies and children find themselves in loving homes and surroundings. RED is a great initiative and I fully support and hope that 2015 will see our youths future brighter by having no children born with HIV.’ Elka Whalan.

Bugaboo products are now available in more than 50 countries and the company is a partner of (PRODUCT)RED™ contributing 1% of all revenue – across all products – to the Global Fund to help reach the goal of eliminating mother to child transmission of HIV by 2015

Bugaboo + Missoni – Prams with Style

Everyone has seen the modern & stylish Bugaboo prams around, and most mums INCLUDING me wish you had one lol…well now Bugaboo have partnered with partnership with Italian fashion house Missoni.

The collaboration represents the innovative andfunctional design personalities of Bugaboo, and the contemporary approach towards fashion and design by Missoni.

The Bugaboo + Missoni collection features two tailored designs one for the Bugaboo Cameleon, and another to complement the BugabooBee. Vibrant zigzags decorate the canopy of the Bugaboo Bee, while the Bugaboo Cameleon canopy is covered in a bright block print. Bothdesigns also come with a matching Missoni knitted blanket, which can also be worn as a scarf by parents.

All of the collection is made in Italy with the signature luxury of Missoni’s craftsmanship and quality.

Children are very sensitive to colour and patterning, says Angela Missoni, so the Bugaboo + Missoni collection has been created with this in mind. A gorgeous geometric print with blocks of colour cover the Bugaboo Cameleon hood and bassinet apron while the Bugaboo Bee is treated to stunning zigzagged patterning. Each pram comes with an exclusive Missoni knitted blanket.

I just had a look at Bugaboo’s website, and it seems the Bugaboo + Missoni collection will be available in July in “selected” stores around the world, but no news about Australia as yet – when announced will let you know.

Bugaboo’s prams are already in the higher price market, you may be able to find second hand ones on Ebay for around $300 – $400s.

kids can run their own market stall – . —-.WOOHOO–..CLUB KIDPRENEUR

Club Kidpreneur is giving Australian children the unique chance to run a market stall at the Eveleigh Artisans’ Market in Sydney on Sunday 5th December.  The opportunity is open to children between 7-14 years and registrations are currently being accepted via the website,www.clubkidpreneur.com.  Children can sell anything they choose as long as it is handmade, for example, Christmas cards, lemonade, paintings or jewellery.
Club Kidpreneur is the brainchild of one of Australia’s most successful serial entrepreneurs, Creel Price, who started his own strawberry-growing business at the age of 11 years, and at 25 years co-founded Blueprint Management Group with a $5K investment which he sold 10 years later for more than $100million.
Price explained, “There are many kids in Australia who have the passion and determination to become successful entrepreneurs; I was one of them myself.  Many of them are already running their own micro-businesses – organising garage sales, washing cars for pocket money, and selling products they have made to friends and family.  Imagine what these kids will be able to achieve given the right support, education, and encouragement in business start-up.”
Club Kidpreneur is free to join and open to all children across Australia.  The website http://clubkidpreneur.com contains a step by step guide to registering a business name and offers downloadable posters and business cards.  Club Kidpreneur also offers an eight week school programme called ‘Ready, Set, Go’ which is targeted at 8-12 year olds at all learning levels.
Wendy, General Manager of Club Kidpreneur Australia said: “The launch of the Club Kidpreneur website and school programme is just the start.  Our long term goals include a Kidpreneur stall in every weekend market in Australia, Kidpreneur school holiday camps, and even a Kidpreneur college dedicated to aspiring entrepreneurs.  The kids of today will be running the Australia of tomorrow and Club Kidpreneur aims to inspire and grow our children to their full potential.”
To register for a market stall log onto www.clubkidpreneur.com or email wendy@clubkidpreneur.com. The market is located at 243 Wilson St, Darlington, Sydney, NSW (adjacent to Carriageworks), from 10am – 3pm on Sunday 5th December 2010.  Over 2,000 people visited the Artisan Christmas market in 2009 and this is the first time that children will be running stalls.

A personalised keepsake thats lasts forever.

Well, its been 5 years since my first mothers day – and besides hubby getting me over the years an exercise bike, x-trainer (I am starting thinking a hidden message with these two gifts lol) and flowers the remaining years – Im still waiting for a personalised or even handmade mothers day gift.
This year, I took things into my own hands and “forced/ assisted” my girls to make me a “surprise” Mothers Day card, at the end a total of 12 cards were made and stored away (wonderful lol).
Isnt it cute????
I entered a competition on Facebook offered by Umples Designs for a free personalised gift.Yep, surprise surprise I didnt win, but the next I received an email telling me I can have a digital freebie if I was happy to print it out myself……
“is it my birthday mum??”  – i here it alot…AGGGh

Umples Designs have a range of personalised gifts including:-

  • Name Meanings and Name Poems
  • Party Bags and Childrens Placemats
  • Variety of Adult themes and Childrens theme birthday invitations
  • Baby announcements and engagement invitations
  • Wedding invitations and Thank You cards and more.
Guess what Im getting done??
What impressed me is Jayne, who is the WAHM behind Umples Designs is more than happy to help you out.  Just looking at Umple Designs facebook feedback page, I felt as if this isnt just a business or a way to support her family but more a passion. She is always asking for her clients opinions, what her clients and followers would like to see or need and more importantly has helped out a number of clients in the last minute.
I highly recommend Umples Designs for your next special occasion.
