Roamz – free app

Todays Iphone app isnt a game but more a personal tour guide of sales, offers & whats on in your local area.

Its quick to register (name & email), then you have to choose your preferences – which social media you’d like to share with & what info you’d like to see in your local area.

The way this app works is – you upload a photo or just info, select the suburb or business your at and click save. When others search your local suburb, your info shows up with the info and gives others a chance to vote.

The only thing I found was the search results werent recent, I had photos or info which were 5 months old, its based on how often others (or you) upload photos &  tag the suburb or business.

It seems like a new app but once people spread the word it will benefit alot of local & online businesses. I just added our cafe as local business place and will upload a few photos to get things moving.

{Iphone app} – Shapeup

Im really trying to keep up with my 60 grams a day protein intake, prior to surgery I thought this would be easy to achieve but now I know how much my stomach can tollerate Im really starting to struggle.

About 2 weeks ago I simply gave up and decided to eat what ever and when ever – bad idea I became overly tired and started looking sick….

Today is a new day and a new start – its funny prior to surgery I was forever starting my diets with its a new day and now that im 20kgs lighter im still at my old habits.

Im now using ShapeUp app to keep count of my daily protein & carbs (something I still have to work at) and the best part its FREE!!!

The shapeup app is free but when you upgrade to the Gold club, theres more features including water intake tracker, add comment, and add before/after photos.

In my opinion the free app is just as good with the most important features available why would you want to upgrade.

This is my reporting so far ,back to my protein intake im so far doing well with 26 grams within breakky & morning tea. Considering I have 5 meals a day I have to achieve 10 grams of protein per meal, easier said than done.

You can also add any exercise activities onto the free app and its password protected keeping my kids away from my calories- again why would you pay.

Heres my profile and goals – I know im doing well but I just wish I could lose the weight faster instead of healthier….I have to do something about my arms though.

You can download Shapeup from Itunes, I have tried a few other food diary apps but I found Shapeup easy to use, including Australian foods & measurements and as I keep repeating myself its FREE!!

Iphone App – Intuition

An Iphone app designed and created by a mum for us mums!!!

I started using and carrying a planner when I became a mum 7 short years ago but since scheming the brilliant idea to steal hubby’s Iphone, I started using  Intuition app and ditched the planner.

Considering the story behind the stolen Iphone is like opening a new can of worms, Im going skip along to the Intuition app. This is every mums 24/7 personal assistant.

The Intuition allows you customise the categories, colour code them and is very user friendly.

To change the categories, click the coloured “petal” logo to bring you to the “petal”page, click on “categories” and edit them as you please.

The ‘Calender’ allows you to view each task according to due dates and the times also allows you to set recurring tasks such as ballet or your girls night out…using you Google account details, you can sync your tasks to you Google calender as well– this is done through the “My Info” petal and clicking on ‘Preferences’.

The ‘preferences’  allows you to link your Twitter account so you can share your tasks with your followers via Twitter updates.

Like all free apps, the Intuition does contain advertisement which isnt too bad compared to some other free apps I refuse to use and its usually a small banner at the boto.

There is a “community” petal which links to a Mums forum to enjoy exchanging ideas, tips, recipes and more.

So how does my Intuition look???

my intuition

This is how I set my categories

While I enjoy shopping, my husband hates it – so this means I have to buy his clothes, the kids, mine plus what ever else we need AND considering I only have one brain – I enter everything we need or needs to be replaced …

My Wish List contains items/furniture we are saving for or things needed but arent a priorty like doona covers.

This is one app I believe all mums will love – not only because its free but its something just for us….how??? it reduces the load in our head, by remembering everything for us….just as long as we dont forget to update it or back it up…..
